Just wanted to say thank you to all of you for the wonderful work you have done on our apartment and the great you have been to us. The curtains and cushions look wonderful as do all the beds so am very grateful to you all. And they are all ready in time for the family who arrive on Sunday! Simon and Stephanie
In addition to made-to-measure curtains and blinds we can also dress the top of your window with a variety of treatments.
Balloon Valance
An ideal top treatment for smaller windows, this simple valance is an unlined rectangle of fabric with casings at the top and bottom edges. Lightweight, crisp fabrics work better and can be stuffed with wadding or tissue to hold their shape.
Bonded Pelmet
We can create simple no-sew pelmets by simply bonding fabric onto any shape you desire. They can be made in any fabric so are very versatile.
Scarf Valance
A scarf valance looks like swags and tails and can be used to frame a window on their own or combined with blinds and curtains for a more layered look. Normally one width of fabric, scarf valances are cut to the required length and draped across the top of the window with the ends falling each side to create tails. If using a patterned fabric, it will have to be joined so that the pattern is the right way up on both sides. Best made in sheer or lightweight fabrics which need lining as the reverse of the tails show on the cascade pleat.
Padded Pelmet
Basically the same as a bonded pelmet but with interior padding, padded pelmets can be made to match, contrast or coordinate with existing curtains or blinds. Braid, fringing, binding or tassels added to the bottom edge will enhance your chosen shape and create a focal point on your window.
Simple Valance
An unlined, simple valance is ideal as a single treatment or to team up with blinds on smaller windows such as stairways, halls, kitchens and bathrooms. A straight hemline will make a narrow window look wider. As they are unlined, simple valances can be made in all fabric weights and with a selection of header tapes (single pleat, box pleat or pinch pleat).
Swags
Deep swags add a luxurious feel to windows and can be made in all weights of fabric. Usually teamed up with curtains or blinds swags should be fitted outside the window recess.
